Good question, Sakai-san.

I just learned English phrases for asking questions - "Do you happen to know?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uM2FVI4exiU

So.... no, I don't.

At least that's not me.

Uh, huh!

P.S.
毎日たくさん聞いたり読んだり観たりしてるとそういうことありますね。
synchronicity を tadoku が呼ぶというか。

8 Beginner English Book Recommendations [Advanced English Lesson]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGHHGZ0_-jE

A woman had 8 books for beginners.

She recommend them who never read a book before.

I read 4 of 8.

I thought I was not a tadokist when I watched this video over.

How many books did you read in this video?

I've read three out of the eight books. :book:

They are

James and the Giant Peach

Charlotte's Web and

Holes.

I don't have time to listen to all of Vanessa's recommendations.

But I do want to hear what she has to say about Holes.

How many have read?

Three books…

Everyone knows you are not a tadokist.

You have said that you aren’t, right?

I’m sorry for that, poor Sakai-san.

But you are great indeed.

How many books have you read before?

What was the first book?

And when was that book?

You won’t remember how many and when.

Perhaps you can’t count them, and it’s long long time ago.

So let bygones be bygones.

Anyway happy reading.

※ This is my practicing. You don’t have to answer.

I don't do 多読.

Some people may find it hard to believe.

But old tadoku friends have known it for a long time.

I don't do 多読, nor 語数数え、nor 冊数数え、nor 劇薬シャドーイング for instance.

But I do remember my first book that I read through without a dictionary.

It was a shortened version of Silas Marner by George Eliot.

It was really short.

About 60 pages?

It was at the end of second year at senior high school.

The class had started to translate it into Japanese at the beginning of the second year.

We were only maybe fifteen or twenty pages into the book after a year.

One evening during spring recess, I started to read to finish the book.

Without using a dictionary, as I said.

And the story gripped me.

I couldnt put it down.

When I finally finished the book, dawn had come and quite light outside.

I still remember that 爽やかな気分.

That was the first and the last book of my 多読 for a long time, until recently.

That's because I started 受験勉強 soon after that.

I was very conscious of grammar.

It's been maybe five years now since I started to read without thinking about grammar.

Thanks, 肚裡さん.

I enjoyed remembering that precious moment sixty years ago. :book:

Rugby World Cup 2019 has began.

I love to watch it on television.

I like the player Luke Thompson on Japan.

解説者とアナウンサー speak in japanese.

The program doesn’t have subtitles.

But the referee calls in english to the players.

I caught the word he called “stay where you are”.

I often heard the word.

And others.

It’s fun for me even if I don’t understand what the refree is calling.

I hope Japan go to 決勝戦 with New Zealand.

Should I say I wish?

Anyway just watch.
